Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 21 March 2018: Gulf Air, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, will launch direct flights to the Egyptian cities of Alexandria (with a 3 weekly service) from 10th June 2018 and Sharm El Shaikh (with a 2 weekly service) from 16th June 2018. The network expansion coincides with the airline’s new aircraft deliveries, of which 5 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and 2 Airbus A320neos will enter Gulf Air’s fleet by end-2018.

In Q2 2018 Gulf Air will also launch direct flights to Abha and Tabuk in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This will expand its Saudi Arabia operations to serve 7 cities in total, complementing the airline’s current Dammam, Riyadh, Madina Al Munawarah, Jeddah and Gassim operations. Gulf Air will also launch direct flights to Bangalore and Calicut in India, alongside Baku in Azerbaijan and Casablanca in Morocco.
